FINAL CUT PRO
Saturday  25 September 2010 from 10 am to 5 pm

INTRODUCTION TO FINAL CUT PRO 7 This one-day course is designed to introduce participants to the Final Cut Pro non-linear editing system. The first half of the workshop will be devoted to capturing, importing and organizing media. The second half will introduce basic editing techniques. Transitions, fades and titles will briefly be explored. Output considerations and printing to DV tape will be demonstrated. The workshop is designed as an introductory overview of the software and is aimed at those with a basic knowledge of editing systems and little or no familiarity with Final Cut Pro. For those with specific questions about Final Cut Pro, Charles Street Video offers in-house editors for orientations and/or for members who need assistance for a particular component of their project.

Members: $110 plus GST

BASIC AFTER EFFECTS 5
Saturday 18 September 2010 from 10 am to 5 pm

This workshop will provide a brief survey of Adobe's powerful image manipulation software, After Effects, with a specific focus on applying it to video and animation sequences. The workshop will cover the fundamentals of AE including compositions, timelines, keyframes, and wireframes, masking, titling and applying effects. The workshop will inform participants about importing files and sequences to/from Avid or Final Cut Pro editing systems or other applications. A basic familiarity with video editing concepts and with computer graphics applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator, would be an asset for getting the most out of this workshop.

RED POST PRODUCTION

Saturday 4 September 2010 from 10 am to 5 pm

The RED camera is a tapeless image acquisition system that writes digital media to a portable hard drive. It is capable of shooting in 4K mode, which is approximately five times the resolution of high definition video. The RED Post-Production workshop will cover workflow strategies and the RED capable technology available in CSV's A-room.

Members: $110 plus GST

Non-Members: $165 plus GST

 

 

RED CAMERA 
Saturday 11 September, 2010 from 10 am to 5 pm

The RED camera is a tapeless image acquisition system that writes digital media to a portable hard drive. It is capable of shooting in 4K mode, which is approximately five times the resolution of high definition video. The RED Camera workshop will cover the set-up and operation of the RED camera. The session is mandatory if you want to rent the camera from CSV and you/ your operator cannot demonstrate prior experience with a RED.
