This workshop focuses on intermediate to advanced After Effects techniques. Some of the skills covered in this tutorial include: using the graph editor, working with shapes and paths, using particles, using expressions and the pick-whip, motion tracking and stabilization, basic 3D and lighting, using the camera, time remapping and use of mattes and keying. The tutorial will also include tips on integrating Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and will include a discussion of concepts of broadcast design. A working knowledge of After Effects is required.

Instructor: Alex KingsmillAlex Kingsmill is a cinematographer and visual effects artist based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His credits include television and web commercials, music videos, episodic TV, short dramatic films, and feature length documentary in both roles. He holds a BFA in Integrated Media from OCAD, and also works as a Camera Trainee with the IATSE 667 International Cinematographers Guild. Alex is also actively involved with Charles Street Video, an artist run center for independent filmmakers in Toronto. Alex sits on the board of directors, and teaches workshops for CSV members on various cameras, and post-production softwares and techniques. |
