This workshop introduces filmmakers to the world of marketing themselves and their work, as well as how important it is to have a specific brand and marketing reach for your work. Elements in this workshop include: building a social media profile, content to post, who to follow, how often and at what times to post, individual vs film marketing.

Instructor: Dilani RabindranDilani Rabindran is a Consulting Professional primarily focused in the international film industry, in which she founded a company to help promote quality South Asian cinema. After 4 years with TIFF she moved to India to join the National Award winning Tribal Arts Productions in a Marketing position, while assisting with production coordination on their third feature. It was during this time that she founded Viewfinder Film Consulting, which markets & sells Indian films internationally, after recognizing the need for a formal voice to speak on behalf of independent South Indian cinema to the world. After returning to Canada to continue running the company from here she also joined Bell Media, Canada's premiere multimedia company, as a Strategic Portfolio Manager in their Digital division. She is also a seasoned freelance columnist within the South Asian entertainment sector, hosts a popular podcast called 1 by 2 for Indian digital media company Raaga.com and curates films for the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival. |
