Dive into the magical world of projection mapping, which enables you to create anything from high end production installations, elevate performance pieces with tech, and build completely immersive environments.
In this 2 hour workshop, participants will learn the basics of projection mapping by using the free to download software Touch Designer. Topics covered include projector set up and spiking, asset and material management, as well as creating chapters/scenes for narrative or time based projection mapped visuals. This workshop is ideal for complete beginners to projection mapping. Some experience with projectors and Touch Designer is an asset, but not required.

Instructor: Peter Rahul Peter Rahul is a Toronto-based visual artist and educator who specializes in video and interactive installation. His research into vintage video equipment and contemporary computer graphics results in artworks that look simultaneously nostalgic and futuristic. Rahul's art practice has taken the form of animation, stage design, interactive video sculptures, VHS mixtapes, and most recently; puppet shows. His animation work has been screened across North America, and internationally in Japan, Korea, France, Turkey and Portugal. Peter Rahul was also co-founder of two A/V artist collectives in Toronto who specialized in stage design and video production; The Analog Preservation Network (2014-16) as well as Bump Television (2018-20). |
