About this Event

CSV invites you to discuss and demystify distribution pathways and processes for Canadian Indie Filmmakers. Presented by CFMDC

CSV invites you to a very special workshop presentation to discuss and demystify distribution pathways and processes for Canadian Indie Filmmakers. Navigating the many aspects of the film industry can be complex, but fear not! Facilitated by Vtape (Dec 3rd) and CFMDC (Dec 9th), two historic independent distribution companies based in Toronto, we’ll be going through best practices for non-commercial work, artist rights, and more.

About CFMDC: Established in 1967, CFMDC is a not-for-profit non-commercial, artist-run centre and distributor. Not a commercial film distributor, CFMDC are a non-profit organization that advocates for, and prioritizes in its’ programming and circulation, non-commercial independent, artist-made work on Film and Video. Advocating for a holistic understanding of production, circulation and exhibition CFMDC prioritizes artist rights, accessibility and the creation of new audiences through education and direct engagement.

As part of this mission they support the circulation of artist made film and video, do programming, commission group exhibitions, offer workshops, and educational training, as well as provide affordable access to exhibition space in Toronto.
