Charles Street Video (“CSV”) is a not-for-profit, artist-run, membership-based organization that supports the production and exhibition of independent media art.

Charles Street Video encourages experimentation and promotes an artistic community through exhibitions, dialogue, grassroots collaborations, in-house activities, technical support, and training initiatives.
Charles Street Video actively participates in local media art exhibitions through our partnerships with arts organizations, local festivals, and our on-site exhibition space.

workshops
CSV offers workshops on using the most commonly-rented production gear and post-production software.
They host various sessions on all aspects of media art production and exhibition.
events
CSV events are usually free and include exhibitions, screenings, artist talks, and parties.
Members and non-members are welcome to check them out and meet other independent media artists at upcoming events.
opportunities
CSV develops and supports residencies, commissions, youth outreach, and community programs; e.g., the Maker Space program does ongoing assessments of proposals to work at the facility, and/ or to use its resources as a resident artist.
CSV is open to establishing new relationships and programs.
Charles Street Video Memberships
Membership at Charles Street Video is open to professional artists working with video, film, audio, installation, Extended Reality (XR), and other media art forms. To be eligible for CSV’s reduced “Artist” rates when using CSV’s equipment, members must be working on non-commercial projects, over which they have sole creative control.

Gear and Facilities
CSV supports media artists by offering affordable access to equipment and post-production editing facilities for creating videos, films, digital cinema, installations, and other media art forms.

Mobile Gear Rentals
A diverse inventory of media art production, post-production and presentation gear is available for rent by members on a first-come-first-served basis.
Program Facilities and Post-Production Rentals
Our in-house editing station is available 24/7. Laptops outfitted with editing software are available to book for in-house or off-site use.
Our 500 sq. foot programming/ event/ exhibition space at the front of the facility is available to rent on an hourly basis; for extended, exhibition-related use, contact us.
In-House Editing and Technicians Database
In-house editing services and instruction sessions are bookable through the office for small projects, orientations, and project components. We can put members in touch with other experienced editors or technical crew using our membership database
