Toy cameras and cellphone videos aren’t just for kids and home movies. In the hands of an artist with a little bit of imagination, these formats can transform the miniature movie screen into a world of vivid possibilities right in the palm of your hand. This workshop will review the aesthetics of the small format, mobile video possibilities, different shooting and editing techniques. Toy cameras ranging from the Barbie Video Girl to the Fisher-Price Kid-Tough camera and iPhones will be used to shoot footage that will be edited and completed in this one-day workshop. Toy cameras are provided but participants must supply their own iPhones.
Come with an openness to explore an alternative video format that encourages spontaneity and creative freedom. A basic understanding of either iMovie, Final Cut X or Premiere is preferred.
Participants should supply their own hard drives with firewire 400 or 800
