In this workshop, participants will evaluate their fully completed short film screenplay (max: 20 pages). They will preface their work with the desired intention of their screenplay, and their project will be read aloud by the small group of participants involved in the workshop. Their screenplay will be evaluated using an existing story structural model. They will receive suggestions on restructuring their screenplay to better suit their intention behind the work.
The short film screenplays will be assessed based on the functionality of their scenes, their dialogue’s efficiency and overall screenplay structure. They will be given a brief overview of plot structure (which is covered in greater detail in the Structuring a Screenplay workshop).
Participants will walk away with a course booklet outlining the lessons in narrative structure — so that they have a reference guide after the workshop’s completion.
Please arrive at the workshop with a fully completed short film screenplay (max: 20 pages).
The workshop will be 2 sessions (2 hours each).
- maximum capacity: 6
- 4 hours of instruction
