Hostage examines "The Western Hostage Crisis," during which several Westerners were abducted and detained by "Islamic militants" in Lebanon in the 80s and early 90s. In Hostage, this "crisis" is examined through the fictional testimony of Souheil Bachar, the only Arab man to have been detained with the Western hostages kidnapped in Beirut in the 1980s.
