Charles Street Video is pleased to announce The Smiling Room's residency as part of the Maker Space program.
Through the residency, Naty Tremblay and Alejandra Higuera will be developing their project: The Smiling Room, an interactive and immersive community engaged media art installation. The Smiling Room explores the politics of Queer Happiness, Resistance and Struggle within the intersections of Toronto’s dynamic LGBTQ2SIA communities.
The Smiling Room will be exhibited during the 2018 Nuit Rose Festival, which focuses on showcasing Queer arts and performance during Pride. The installation will be mounted June 15th and 16th in the Autodesk showroom at the ground level of the MarS building at College and University.
Partners of the project include: The Ontario Arts Council, Nuit Rose, Autodesk, The 519, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Supporting our Youth, Sketch and Charles Street Video.
