Project

Made In Exile Film Intensive

This 4 month program offered by MIE in collaboration with CSV, will allow aspiring filmmakers to learn the craft of filmmaking through mentorship, resource-sharing and workshops with local guest artists. Through the medium of filmmaking, this program aims to encourage young Tibetans to explore their artistic visions and strengthen their storytelling abilities.
The program will require the participants to attend a series of workshops on filmmaking which will then culminate in the participants producing their own short-film with the support of an assistant production manager. The participants will also have an opportunity to get mentorship from a well-known filmmaker Tenzin Tsetan Choklay, who is also the artist mentor for this program.
At the end of the program, the participants will get an opportunity to publicly screen their film as a co-presentation with imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival. All the facilitation will be carried out by local Indigenous artists as we centre the understanding that our stories here, as Tibetan exiles, are also unfolding on Indigenous land and we find it imperative to bridge our communities through storytelling.
