Echoes of Existence: The House of Synthetic Truths is a non-linear, multi-channel film installation that exposes our world of documentation of notions of self determination. The constant surveillance and analysis of our lives normalizes our self-obsessed behavior of categorizing, editing and presenting ourselves: we are evolving into dehumanized, controllable characters existing in a continuous cycle of what we digest, process and release back into the world like a virus that can’t be stopped. Visitors to the installation will piece together their own personalized narrative for an experience that lies somewhere between theatre, film and visual art.
Our first of three residencies will focus on creating the architecture of the installation through projection and experimenting with the visitor experience featuring digital content that maintains a thematic link to the piece.
