Gem-Theory

”GEM-THEORY” was a free 10-week incubator program for entry level content creators to develop practical skills and knowledge exploring their environment through photo/video documentary.The goal was for participants to understand the important pillars of impactful story-telling by drawing from the unique lens of their own lived experiences and connection to society. Participants were immersed in weekly labs with industry photographers, directors, and editors to develop fundamental skills around visual-storytelling and the process of production. Final projects were showcased at their graduation, where they presented their ideas along with their work to community & industry collaborators.

This program aimed to serve entry-level artists from ages 18-29 from marginalized communities. Participants who already have established projects will not be eligible. The project included BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ participants from underserved communities. The collaborators/mentors were also reflective of these groups
