A hands-on media production and webcasting workshop
A collaborative programme of Charles Street Video, InterAccess, Trinity Square Video, and The Power Plant
Field + Streaming workshops provide a hands-on opportunity for young people between the ages of 16 and 25 to learn all the elements involved in a successful live webcast event. Working with experienced instructors and established artists, this workshop stresses both the skills and the art of webcast production. Participants will be involved in all aspects of the production process, from critical discussion and conceptual development, to shooting and editing video support material, to event preparation, planning, technical set-up, and live broadcast.
The first Field + Streaming workshop was undertaken in cooperation with the TRANZ<--->TECH Toronto International Video Art Biennial, and culminated in the live webcast of a performance by the Montreal-based group Women With Kitchen Appliances on Saturday, October 13, 2001. The second iteration of Field + Streaming saw The Power Plant Gallery come on board, and had the participants produce a webcast of a lecture by Bruce Mau, as part of The Power Plant's International Lecture series.
The organizers of Field + Streaming are always looking for prospective participants and interested organizations to work with. If you or your organization would like more information, please contact Workshop Coordinator Lewis Kaye at lewiskaye@yahoo.ca or 416-835-1778.
