Get ready to reconvene with what you consider the role of Director to be. In this workshop, participants will engage with that storied role of the "Auteur," but here through the lens of ethical production. We will discern how one upholds responsibility, both unto your film (its aesthetic capacities to express) and your cast/crew (their safety, respect and dignity as laborers). We will engage with historic practices within our film industry and reimagine what and how Directors might do to redistribute their time in order to begin demystifying the hierarchical structures traditionally found in our working environments. This is geared towards Directors and Producers, where we can discuss HOW we go about our work and what needs to change now. Through guided discussion, ideas and perspectives will be contributed by all participants of the workshop.
