This one-day introductory course is designed to familiarize participants with the last, pre-"X" version of the Final Cut Pro non-linear editing system. The first half of the workshop will be devoted to capturing, importing and organizing media. The second half will introduce basic editing techniques. Transitions, fades and titles will briefly be explored. Output considerations and printing to DV tape will be demonstrated. The workshop is designed as an introductory overview of the software and is aimed at those with a basic knowledge of editing systems and little or no familiarity with Final Cut Pro.
For those with specific questions about Final Cut Pro, Charles Street Video offers in-house editors for orientations and/or for members who need assistance on a particular component of their project.
