In the "Intro to Cinematography" workshop, participants will acquire the skills necessary to effectively translate the written word of a script into compelling and relevant visual imagery. In this session, we will cover fundamental camera techniques, lighting principles, and essential grip equipment, demonstrating how these elements work together to effectively convey a narrative. The session includes a hands-on component where participants will use a short scene to practice their skills.

Gayle Ye is an Emmy award-winning director of photography whose work has screened at Cannes Court Metrage and the Tribeca Film Festival. They have received praise from the New York Times and Roger Ebert for their stunning cinematography. They recently lensed season one and two of Jasmeet Raina's "Late Bloomer" and Sook-Yin Lee's highly anticipated feature film, "Paying For It" which premiered at TIFF. |
