More TV writers than ever are starting as script coordinators and story coordinators. But what are these mysterious jobs, and how do you get one? This 2-hour introductory workshop for emerging TV writers will cover the process of coordinating from development through to production. The course will unpack what happens in a writers' room, the financial side of getting started as a writer, and survival tips from an experienced coordinator. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop with Final Draft screenwriting software.

Instructor: Thomas Conway
An award-winning writer, his credits include I Woke Up a Vampire (Netflix), The Beaverton (CTV), and Odd Squad (PBS). He is the creator of the scripted comedy series One Man’s Treasure (Fibe TV1), and the WGC nominated the docu-series Botanical Jungle. Thomas identifies as a person with a disability and has written about his experiences working in film and television for Playback Magazine. Thomas has extensive experience as both a script coordinator and story coordinator on numerous series, including Schitt’s Creek (CBC), Conviction (ABC), and Spun Out (CTV). He is a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Radio and Television Arts program.
