This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the LaserCube—a compact, portable laser projector used for live visuals, installation art, and experimental performance. Participants will learn the fundamentals of laser safety, software setup (including tools like LaserOS and TouchDesigner), and how to create simple, engaging laser animations. No prior experience is required—just a curiosity about light, motion, and creative technology. By the end of the session, attendees will have designed and projected their own laser artwork and understand the possibilities of laser projection in both studio and live contexts.

Instructor: Dan Tapper
Dan Tapper is an artist and creative technologist interested in the intersection between information and experience. His work focuses on the unseen and unheard, using radio and imaging technologies to capture the sounds of the earth’s ionosphere, map supernovas, and capture microscopic worlds. By utilizing elements of conceptual art and science in his work, Tapper draws attention to the unperceived wonders that surround us and the poetry that can be found in data. |
