This short workshop will tackle the overwhelming, exciting and confusing work needed to produce your first project. Learn more about the details of producing from budgeting to planing to emotional support to submitting your film to festivals. You can learn the details so that you can make some crucial decisions early on in your producing journey. Investigate the skills you can build on, and the skills you plan to develop to start producing the projects you love with other filmmakers you admire.

Mara Goldbloom Micomonaco is a Queer Trans Jewish-Italian, Programmer, Director-Writer, and Co-Founder of The Kitsch Generation - based in Toronto. Their work straddles the dramedy line with a strong sense of nostalgia for all things girly-pop. Alum of Spindle Films Mentorship and Series Mania: Writers Campus 2025. Their films were screened at Inside Out, BFI Flare, TIFF Digital, Outfest, Frameline, Reelworld, NFFTY, and more. Currently, they are obsessed with all things on VHS, limoncello with prosecco, Isabella Rossellini, and the smell of jasmine.
