This introductory workshop will demystify the grant writing process for Media Artists seeking funding to support for their projects in film, video, audio, digital and/or new media. During this two-hour session, the instructor will provide a general overview of the funding programs available for media artists, break down the main components of a grant proposal, and cover tips and best practices for writing a successful grant application.
Instructor: Annette Mangaard Annette Mangaard is an independent filmmaker whose work includes many long form documentaries as well as feature fiction films, experimental work and installation art. Her films and media art works have been shown all over the world including Australia, Berlin, Argentina and France. Mangaard spent eight years as the Associate Visual and Media Arts Officer, Chalmers Arts Awards office and Premiers Arts Awards Officer at the Ontario Arts Council giving her extensive experience into the adjudication and granting process. She has served as an advisor and participated on many juries including at the Canada Council, Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council, OMDC, and various other funding bodies. |
